"Portrait of a Young Man," by Raphael, is perhaps the most prominent painting from Poland still missing after World War II. A 2012 news story reported that the painting was in an undisclosed bank vault, but the Polish government has yet to confirm that they know of its whereabouts, although they maintain they know it survived the war.
